Thesis on theme "Development of methods and algorithms for synthesis of network security intellectual monitoring system" is discussed

The next meeting of the Scientific Seminar was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS. Academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute, academician Rasim Alguliyev said that the event was dedicated to the discussion of the dissertation work on the topic "Methods and algorithms for the synthesis of the Intellectual Network Monitoring System".

Afterwards, Babek Nabiyev, the sector chief, stated that the growth of computer networks, increased number of network services and equipment, and its functional capabilities made it difficult to ensure its security. The lack of comprehensive information on network security situations and the in-line time constraint makes the decision-making process deeper. According to him, although the existing security systems have extensive functional capabilities, the complexity of the computer network security process and the need for great labour, experience and knowledge are factors that determine the relevance of dysfunctional work.

The speaker noted that the main purpose of the thesis is to develop methodologies and algorithms for the synthesis of the intelligent monitoring system, allowing for prompt assessment of the real-world situation of network security, early detection of security policy violations and rapid response to events.

He gave detailed information about the issues put forward in the dissertation, the practical significance of the work, scientific innovation, and its approbation. The reporter noted that the conceptual model for intellectual security monitoring was developed, the clusterization method that defines the profile of users for detecting abnormal and non-profile traffic in computer network traffic was put forward, and the multi-classic model for network traffic classification was developed in the research work. 

B.Nabiyev noted that the scientific-theoretical and practical results were applied in the information security and monitoring system of AzScienceNet network of ANAS.

Then the applicant answered numerous questions.

Corresponding member of ANAS, doctor of technical sciences, professor Masuma Mammadova, corresponding member of ANAS, doctor of technical sciences Ramiz Aliguliyev, PhD on technical sciences, assistant professors Yadigar Imamverdiyev, Ramiz Shikhaliyev, Zarifa Jabrailova, Shafaget Mahmudova and others participated in the discussions and highlighted its relevance, evaluated their scientific findings, voiced their opinions and proposals.

Then, the scientific supervisor, academician Rasim Aliguliev mentioned the importance of the dissertation work. He noted that research on distributed intelligent technologies related to the synthesis of the Intelligent Network Security System was a novelty for the field of science and that the proposed conceptual model, methodology and algorithms were of great practical significance. Scientist responded to the relevant requirements and proposed to move to the next stage, taking into account the remarks and suggestions.

The reviewers, PhD Rashid Alakbarov and Fargana Abdullayeva, who were appointed for the dissertation work, stated that fundamental research was conducted in the dissertation, the problems were resolved and scientific innovations were achieved. Scientists have noted that they have responded to the requirements for the dissertation offered by the High Attestation Commission for the PhD in Technical Sciences, and have made suggestions.

In the end, voting was held and the dissertation was recommended unanimously to the next stage.
