The next meeting of the Dissertation Council of the Institute of Information Technology under the Ministry of Science and Education was held.
The chairman of the Dissertation Council, Director-General of the Institute of Information Technology under the Ministry of Science and Education, Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Rasim Aliguliyev gave information about the issues on the agenda, stating that the meeting was dedicated to the appointment and approval of supervisors for a dissertation submitted for the Doctor of Technical Sciences degree in specialty 3338.01 – "System Analysis, Management, and Information Processing."
Academician Rasim Aliguliyev first provided detailed information about the activities of the Dissertation Council over the past two years, including the dissertation works submitted for defense, and noted that the Council was established for the specialties 3339.01 – "Methods and Systems of Information Protection, Information Security" and 3338.01 – "System Analysis, Management, and Information Processing."
The scientist spoke about the recent reforms in our country concerning the management of science, the enhancement of scientific potential, and the rejuvenation and encouragement of scientific staff. He highlighted the important steps taken to adapt science to the needs of the labor market, aligning scientific activity with the priorities of state policy, as well as the important measures taken to improve the management mechanisms of scientific institutions.
The Vice-President of ANAS also reviewed the activities of the Dissertation Council established in 2023. The scientist emphasized that during this period, the Council held 7 meetings, and objectivity and transparency were ensured in all defense processes. The academician noted that four dissertations for the Doctor of Philosophy degree and four dissertations for the Doctor of Sciences degree are being prepared at the Institute of Information Technology for presentation at upcoming council meetings.
Following this, Associate Professor Lyudmila Sukhostat submitted her dissertation titled “Development of Methods and Algorithms for Ensuring the Cyber-Resilience of Cyber-Physical Systems” for awarding the Doctor of Technical Sciences degree. Relevant decisions were adopted regarding this at the meeting.
