25 November is celebrated as International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women by the decision of UN General Assembly's in 1999, chairman of the Women's Board, Ph.D. on technical sciences, associate professor Zarifa Jabrayilova noted. She said that large-scale events, projects are being implemented by governments, organizations and NGOs to attract the attention of the international community to this problem each year. This year, it has been decided to hold a number of events on this day from November 25 to December 10 in ANAS.

The chairman stressed that the country's leadership attaches great importance to the role of women in society, the implementation of appropriate measures to ensure gender equality and the elimination of violence against women in modern society.

Then a staff member of the Academy of Labor and Social Relations of Azerbaijan Zeynaddin Shabanov spoke.

Z. Jabrailova stressed that one of the main tasks of   Women’s Board of the Institute is to stimulate and support the activities of women.

The head of the department, corresponding member of ANAS, doctor of technical sciences, professor Masuma Mamedova told about the opportunities created for the scientific activities of women in ANAS.

She shared her experience gained in the course of her research activities with the participants of the event and said that she had worked at the academy for more than 40 years, of which 31 years at the Institute of Information Technology, and encouraged young researchers to use the opportunities created for research activities in this field. environment.

The leading researcher of the institute, Ph.D. in engineering, associate professor Fargana Abdullayeva spoke about the support provided to women in their research activities.

Then the Secretary of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, Ph.D. student Sabina Karimova, spoke on the topic “Support of youth’s scientific activities and scientific-organizational activities”. She noted that the organization has created all conditions for stimulating the scientific activities of young scientists.

The event was attended by the Deputy Director for Technology, Ph.D. in engineering, associate professor Rashid Alakbarov. During his speech, he noted that the event was devoted to the discussion of a topic of great importance in the modern world. He said that illiteracy is one of the main factors leading to the violation of women's rights and violence against women and that in developed European countries there is also discrimination against women.

The chief engineer of the Department No. 9, Ph.D., associate professor Shafagat Mahmudova, the chief engineer of the Department No. 16 Afruz Gurbanova and the deputy chairman of the Women's Board of ANAS, head of the department of the Institute of Linguistics of ANAS  Sevil Zulfugarova participated in the discussion.

In conclusion, questions were answered about the future directions of the work of the Board and suggestions were put forward.
