Institute of Information Technology restructures its social media presence

In the modern era, the dissemination of scientific knowledge among the general public and public awareness, particularly regarding achievements in digital technologies and artificial intelligence, are of vital importance. In recent times, one of the main directions of the digital policy implemented in our country is the promotion and popularization of ICT knowledge, the transfer of advanced technologies, knowledge, and experience to Azerbaijan, and contributing to raising the digital literacy of society. Considering modern challenges and new realities, the Institute of Information Technology of the Ministry of Science and Education is also implementing consistent measures to strengthen activities in these specified areas.

In his speech, Academician Rasim Alguliyev, Vice-President of ANAS and Director General of the Institute, stated that one of the key tasks set within the framework of the "Action Plan for Accelerating Digital Development in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2028" is strengthening awareness in the relevant field and instilling necessary digital knowledge and skills in people.

According to Academician Rasim Alguliyev, considering the tasks arising from these requirements, the Institute of Information Technology is restructuring its activities in line with modern challenges and paying special attention to utilizing the broad opportunities of advanced social media platforms: “Delivering newly acquired scientific knowledge on digital and artificial intelligence technologies to the broader public in a popular science style is one of the crucial issues. To this end, regular appearances in the media and extensive use of the capabilities of social networks and video resources are of great importance.”

Then, Anar Samidov, Head of the Multimedia Technologies Center, delivered a report on the institute's activities across various social media platforms, the work completed, existing challenges, and upcoming tasks. He provided information on the measures taken to organize social media activities based on a unified and targeted management model, formulate an appropriate content strategy for different platforms, and address other key issues aimed at reaching a broader audience with the institute's scientific achievements.

It was noted that presenting scientific knowledge and research results in a form accessible to society, rather than limiting them solely to the academic environment, integrating them into the educational process, and supporting the state policy implemented in our country are among the primary tasks facing scientific institutions, scientists, and specialists. These very realities make it necessary to improve and further develop the Institute of Information Technology's social media activities, as well as to promptly convey scientific knowledge to the public.
