At the scientific seminar of the Institute of Information Technology  of ANAS scientific heritage of Tim Berners-Lee, a British engineer, a famous computer expert, professor of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, chairman of the World Harrows Torun Consortium, founder of HTTP, HTML and URI (including URL)was discussed.

Head  of department Gulnara Nabibayova  spoke  about the life and activity of the scientist. Tim Berners-Leen was born in London in 1955 and He attended Sheen Mount Primary School, and then went on to attend south west London's Emanuel School from 1969 to 1973 . He studied at The Queen's College, Oxford, from 1973 to 1976.

After graduation, Berners-Lee worked as an engineer at the telecommunications company Plessey in Poole, Dorset. In 1978, he joined D. G. Nash in Ferndown, Dorset, where he helped create type-setting software for printers. Berners-Lee worked as an independent contractor at CERN from June to December 1980. While in Geneva, he proposed a project based on the concept of hypertext, to facilitate sharing and updating information among researchers. To demonstrate it, he built a prototype system named ENQUIRE.

In 1991-1993, T. Berners-Lee wrote "httpd", the world's first web server, the first web site in the world, and also created the first Internet-directory "info.cern.ch".

n 1994, Berners-Lee founded the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 In 1999 Berners-Lee became the first holder of the 3Com Founders chair at the Laboratory for Computer Science. His numerous other honours include the National Academy of Engineering’s prestigious Charles Stark Draper Prize (2007). Berners-Lee is the author, along with Mark Fischetti, of Weaving the Web: The Original Design and Ultimate Destiny of the World Wide Web (2000).
