Visual Interpreter for the Blind

Part streaming-video service, part high-tech call center, Aira is essentially a network of visual interpreters. The startup allows a blind user wearing Google Glass to transmit live video to a remote agent, who can then provide guidance over the phone.

The service can help low-vision or blind users find the line in a coffee shop, read a menu, avoid obstacles in a crowd and more, the company said.
