Agility Robotics showed a new skill of the humanoid robot Digit - working in tandem with the same robot. Robots successfully drag three boxes from one table to another, passing them to each other in the middle of the way.
Digit is a humanoid robot first introduced by Agility Robotics in early 2019. Its structure as a whole is similar to human: the robot has a torso, two legs and two arms, and in place of the head it has a lidar for comprehensive tracking of obstacles. In addition to the lidar, Digit also has stereo cameras for observing objects.
In 2020, the company plans to begin selling the robot to individual customers, so in recent months, engineers have been actively developing Digit and from time to time show its new skills, nanonewsnet.ru reports.
For example, in mid-December, they showed how a robot interacts with people, maintaining a safe distance with them.
This time, engineers engaged in the interaction of robots not with humans, but with each other. The tests took place in the office of the company with two tables near the walls. One of the tables was initially empty, and on the second there were three boxes with matrix codes for recognition. The task of the robots was to drag boxes from one table to another, but not alone, but in a chain, transferring boxes from one robot to another in the middle of the path.
