Next scientific seminar of department №4 was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS.

Opening the event, Deputy Director on Technology, Head of Department, Ph.D. in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Rashid Alakbarov  said that the seminar was dedicated to the topic of "Green IT Problems and their solutions".

Orkhan Mehdiyev, an employee of the department, spoke about the world's most widely used green certificate. He said that this certificate, mainly used in Europe, is available to enterprises using alternative energy sources for the production of electricity.

The reporter who provides information on Ecological alternative sources of energy, said that here includes: Sun, gravitational force, wind, water, biofuel, hydrogen, etc..

O.Mehdiyev informed the world's leading green IT-companies such as "IBM", "Amazon", "Intel" and their “Green Software Strategy”, “Green Asus” initiatives, as well as the “Green Grid” project. He said that this initiative envisages increasing energy efficiency of the processing centers.

Speaking about the Bloom Energy project, the reporter said that the main goal of this project is to create energy within the data processing centers. In the 21st Century, the core task of data processing centers is to ensure that energy is used freely and that financial costs are sufficiently reduced.

He also drew attention to a number of statistical data on green processing centers' trends, their distribution across the country, Green IT training and certification.

At the end of the lecture, the views were exchanged, questions were answered.
