Today, at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, the reporting meeting of the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Technical Sciences of ANAS covering the year 2017 was held.

At first, the guests were closely acquainted with the material and technical conditions created at the institute. They were informed about the services and products offered in the "Information Technologies" publishing house operating under the institute's Multimedia Center, as well as wide-format, high-resolution digital printing equipment, various books, textbooks and magazines, as well as the latest renovation of the institute "Economic and Civil Defense area ".

Then academician-secretary of the department, director of the Institute of Physics of ANAS, academician Nazim Mammadov opened the event and informed about the issues on the agenda. The meeting was dedicated to the discussion of the current activity of 7 institutions included in the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Technical Sciences.

Academician Javad Abdinov, deputy director on scientific affairs of the institute, who presented the annual report of the Institute of Physics of ANAS, noted that in the reporting year, 37 scientific-research works on 4 themes were conducted in the field of condensed state physics, physical bases and techniques of optoelectronics, physical and technical problems of power engineering and nuclear physics. 258 research papers were published in prestigious journals of foreign countries, 226 research papers were published in high-impact journals and 89 research papers were published in national journals. In 2017, 1116 references were made to the articles of the Institute.

Director of the Institute, Academician Telman Aliyev, speaking on the annual report of the Institute of Control Systems of ANAS, said that 43 research works were carried out on 17 subjects in the current year, and 6 of them were completed.

In 2017, the institute's staff published 344 scientific works, including 4 monographs and 106 articles abroad, T. Aliyev noted. 26 of them were published in Thomson Reuters, 26 of them were in Scopus and 48 were published in other foreign prestigious journals.

Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, Misir Mardanov, who presented the annual report of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of ANAS, noted that important scientific and scientific-organizational measures were carried out in the current year. During the reporting period, 386 research works- 140 out of 198 articles, 71 out of 167 theses were published in abroad, 15 scientific publications, and monographs and textbooks were published. 67 articles were published in the Impact Factor journals of the Thomson Reuters international scientific base.

Director of the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS, correspondent member of ANAS Oktay Samadov made a report on the annual report of the institute and noted that in 2017, 24 scientific research works were carried out on 12 themes in 4 problems.

This year 261 scientific works were carried out by the staff of the institute and 38 out of 120 articles were published in Impact Factor journals, O. Samadov noted.

Director of the Shamakhi Astrophysics Observatory named after Nasreddin Tusi of ANAS, correspondent member of ANAS Namig Jalilov presented the annual report of the organization and highlighted the scientific achievements of the current year and the work done in the field of practical astrophysics. He said that 57 books, monographs and articles were published in the Institute, 13 articles were published  Impact Factor journals, 97 articles of the colleagues  were cited.

Director of the Institute of Biophysics of ANAS, correspondent member of ANAS Oktay Gasimov made a speech and informed about scientific researches and projects carried out at the institute, works to be done.

Then academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, academician Rasim Alguliev informed about the works carryout out by the institute in 2017. He noted that research has been carried out on Big Data and Data mining, cloud technologies, information security, biometric technologies, electronic medicine, software engineering, and significant scientific results in the current year.

He noted that during the reporting year, 84 articles, 4 books and 2 express-information were published by the staff and 126 reports at international and national level conferences were delivered. 87 of 210 articles were published in prestigious journals.
