Today, at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, the next scientific seminar of Department № 17 was held. The seminar is devoted to intellectual information technologies and journalism problems, academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the institute, head of the department, academician Rasim Alguliyev said.

Start with, Sunbul Zalova, Senior Specialist of the Institute, presented a presentation on "Journalism Based on Artificial Intelligence Technologies: Contemporary Situation, Trends and Perspectives". Artificial intelligence is an area of computer science that intends to apply human logic in machines and relates to the initiatives of human thinking, she noted.

The reporter  provided information about the drones with unmanned aerial vehicles. She noted that they were technically remote controls. The first such device was produced in 1916 and was put into operation in World War I, she added.

The reporter also spoke about drone journalism problems that open up new opportunities for the modern media: "Drone's personal life intervention, the increased digital imbalance between the countries, personal data, and its inability to transmit inaccurate information. Journalists should always consider environmental conditions when using drones and all equipment before the flight should be examined to prevent accidents. "

She gave information about the Professional Drone Journalists Society and noted that this Society was the first international organization that shaped ethical, educational and technological trends in drone journalism.

S. Zalova also provided detailed information on drone technologies and social media opportunities, rules of using these technologies, perspectives of drone journalism, as well as ongoing researches, conferences.

A presentation on ''Global expertise in the field of new media" was presented by senior specialist of the institute Gulnar Pashayeva. She first spoke about well-known journalistic schools and universities around the world and said that she was involved with Emerson College, Texas University, New York University and other universities.

Speaking about the Journalism School at the Columbia University of USA, the reporter said the school was preparing professionals in all aspects of journalism. She said the school has research areas such as art, radio, business, multimedia, politics and science.

She also gave information about the London School of Journalism. She noted that this high school offers distance learning journalism courses, free lessons and creative writing courses, evening classes as well as doctoral studies.

"One of the world's best-known media education schools is the School of Journalism at the University of Texas," said the reporter here the lessons were taught in the directions of design and development of mobile applications, web and mobile programming, data visualization, social networks and multimedia, civic journalism , ethics in journalism and so on.

G. Pashayeva also informed about the journalism faculties in Russia. She said that in 1947, Faculty of Journalism was opened at the Philological Faculty of Moscow State University in Russia. Approximately 4,000 students study here each year. There are 13 departments in the faculty.

She also gave information about the experience on doctor of philosophy in the field of journalism in the world and conferences on the new media.

Speaking on the report, academician Rasim Alguliev recommended the study of the international conference materials and the identification of prospects for recent years in the field of teaching new media and problems in this field.

Discussions were helsd around two reports, questions were answered.
