Scientific Council discussed a range of scientific and organizational issues

The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Information Technology of the Ministry of Science and Education was held. Academician Rasim Alguliyev, Vice-President of ANAS and Director General of the Institute, stated that the meeting was dedicated to discussions on the implementation of assigned tasks, the development of the Institute’s international cooperation, the presentation of the structural units’ annual reports for 2025, and other current issues.

Then, Ayten Nabiyeva, Head of Department at the Institute, delivered a report on the publication of articles addressing current issues within the structural units, the preparation of reviews on ongoing research, and the progress of dissertations by the Institute’s dissertators and PhD candidates.

Academician Rasim Alguliyev spoke about the issues raised by President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan in his address at the 80th anniversary meeting of ANAS. He said that the Head of State highly appreciated the work of the country’s scientists and set important tasks for the Azerbaijani scientific community. The Vice-President of ANAS stated that every employee of the Institute should base their activity plans for the coming year on the priorities set out by President Ilham Aliyev in strategic documents and in his address at the 80th anniversary of ANAS.

The Vice-President of ANAS also emphasized that the Institute of Information Technology has recently been carrying out consistent and purposeful work to expand its international scientific cooperation. The academician stated that the Institute has established effective partnerships with leading scientific and educational institutions and research centers worldwide and highlighted the importance of the meetings held with the Hong Kong Core Academy of the People’s Republic of China and Chicago State University. He noted that the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the International Core Academy of Sciences and Humanities opens new perspectives for joint scientific research, exchange programs, and the application of advanced practices.

Scientific Secretary Narmin Adigozalova then provided information on the annual reports of the Institute’s structural units for 2025. She noted that department heads had been tasked with preparing reports on the year’s scientific research, scientific innovation, academic and pedagogical activities, participation in domestic and international events, articles published in reputable scientific journals, scientific-organizational work, and other related activities.

Academician Rasim Alguliyev emphasized the necessity of ensuring a high level of organization and evaluation of annual reports, stressing the importance of conducting discussions on the work carried out in structural units and ensuring the active involvement of every employee of the institute in this process.

At the meeting, discussions were also held on the scientific activities of the PhD students admitted to the institute’s doctoral program in 2025, the selection of their dissertation topics, and other current issues, and relevant decisions were adopted.
