Frequent use of mobile devices leads to premature aging October 24, 2019 | 08:03 / Interesting information

The prolonged exposure to blue light emitted by computer and mobile device screens can accelerate the aging process, even if the screen does not shine directly in the eye, writes Asian Age. According to experts, blue light damages cells in the brain and in the retina.

The scientists made these conclusions after experiments with fruit flies of Drosophila melanogaster. Experts checked how the flies reacted to 12-hour exposure to blue LEDs. And it turned out that light accelerated aging. Moreover, this happened even in flies devoid of eyes. Damage to the cells of the retina and brain neurons was recorded, as well as a violation of motor activity.

Specialists recommend using glasses with yellow lenses that can filter out blue light and protect the retina. And phones, laptops and other digital devices should be set to block blue light.
