An article titled "Impact of ICT on economic growth in innovation economy and its assessment", co-authored by academician-secretary of ANAS, director of Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS, academician Rasim Alguliyev and head of department of institute, PhD in economics, associate professor Alovsat Aliyev was discussed  at the International Conference on “Economic Growth and Social Welfare”, dedicated to the 60th Anniversary.

Presenting the report, A.Aliyev spoke about the essence of economic growth, the factors and indicators characterizing it. He noted the importance of the ICT sector in the development of the economy. Mr. Aliyev spoke about the impact of the ICT application level on Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

There is the correlation, regression relations between ICT and GDP, he noted.  Aliyev said that the adequacy of the established regression model was verified.  The relationship between the revenues of the ICT sector and GDP is estimated by non-oil GDP with econometric methods.

At the event, a presentation "Problems of the formation and management of innovative scientific and technological parks" co-authored by employees of the Institute, Roza Shahverdiyeva and Leyla Akbarova was delivered.
