Academician-secretary of ANAS, academician Rasim Aliguliyev expressed this idea at a joint meeting of the Presidium of ANAS and the Academic Council of Baku State University, held on October 3 at the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory N.Tusi.

The scientist said that significant megaprojects are being implemented that meet the objectives of world science in priority areas both in ANAS and in the whole of Azerbaijan. He stressed that, on the basis of all these projects are based on high technology, easy access to information.

Academician R.Alguliyev said that over the past 5 years comprehensive measures have been taken towards the development of information and communication technologies and a powerful platform has been created for the implementation of innovative research projects.

AzScienceNet scientific computer network was a member of the European Association of Scientific and Educational Networks (GEANT) as a national operator in 2015.

He said that cooperation between higher educational institutions of Azerbaijan and European scientific and educational institutions, as well as the provision of broadband network services provided by the institute to higher educational institutions of the country, joining the GEANT network within the framework of the EaPConnect project, are the main objectives.
