Academician-Secretary of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, academician Rasim Alguliyev made a number of proposals addressed to the European Union on behalf of the Azerbaijani scientific community on June 22, 2018 at the event “The Role of GEANT Network in the integration of science and education into Europe."

Scientist pointed out the necessity of providing access to international scientific bases such as "Web of Science", "Scopus", "Springer" for scientific and educational institutions of Azerbaijan in order to gain a thorough knowledge and integrate into the European scientific environment by introducing the EaPContent initiative within the EaPConnect project. He stressed the need for financial support from the European Union and GEANT in this regard.

Serious measures were taken in the field of training highly-qualified personnel at ANAS and multidisciplinary researches were conducted, R.Alguliyev noted. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with European universities in this direction and the need to create online education (bachelor's, master's, PhD) stages in the European Union's science and education institutions. He emphasized the need to draft a special state program on this issue.
