On October 12, the International Scientific and Practical Conference on "Strategic Economic Reforms: Preventive Tax Policy" dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the birth and the 50th anniversary of the scientific and pedagogical activity of the Head of the Department of the Institute of Economy, Corresponding Member of ANAS Akif Musayev was held.

The scientific community of Azerbaijan, well-known economists, as well as scientists and specialists of Russia, Georgia, Romania and Serbia participated in the event, which was held by the joint organizational support of the Institute of Economics of ANAS and the Baku Business University.

Opening the conference, Director of the Institute of Economics, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Nazim Imanov gave detailed information on the scientific research activities of the scientist. He noted that, under his leadership, 35 PhDs and 5 Doctors of science were trained. N.Imanov brought to the notice that the works of the scientist were published in Russia, Turkey, Hungary and other countries.

Then, Director of the institute presented to the conference participants a new bibliographic index by Akif Musaev.

Vice-President of ANAS, Director of ANAS Institute of Literature after Nizami, Academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that, the initiation of preventive measures subject of tax policy is not accidental, as A.Musayev for a long time conducted research in this direction. It was noted that, A.Musayev is the organizer and the head of the research work carried out in the field of the economy of fiscal policy, and one of the main participants and organizers of the establishment of the regulatory and legal framework of the tax system in Azerbaijan.

Touching upon on A.Musayev’s activities in the field of taxes, ANAS Vice-President brought to the attention the special merits of the scientist in improving the legislative base, determining the prospects, and also training the personnel.

At the end of the plenary meeting, the head of department of the Institute of Information Technologies, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor Alovsat Aliyev and Head of the Trade Union Organization Sayyar Abdullayev congratulated Professor Akif Musayev and congratulated him with the letter of academician-secretary of ANAS, director of Institute of Information Technology, academician Rasim Aliguliev and on behalf of collective.

At the event, were delivered reports by Rector of the Azerbaijan State Economic University, Professor Adalat Muradov on "Strategic Directions of Reforms in Higher Education", Rector of the Baku Business University, Professor Ibad Abbasov on "Priorities for the Formation of Human Capital", Deputy Director of the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute of Russia Georgy Kleiner on "Economic reforms, strategic planning, state regulation: a system approach, Tbilisi State University named after Ivane Javakhishvili, Academician Vladimir Papava "Fiscal stimulation of technological innovations".

The conference continued its work in plenary sessions.
