At the meetings of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Information Technology under the Ministry of Science and Education, reports on the comprehensive activities of the Institute's structural units for the first half of 2026 were presented.
AZERTAC reports that academician Rasim Alguliyev, Vice-President of ANAS and Director General of the Institute, delivered a speech on the semi-annual reports, highlighting that the Institute's activities are structured in line with the priority directions defined by state policies, strategies, concepts, and programs. The scientist noted that to increase the efficiency of scientific operations, it is of crucial importance to conduct regular analyses as well as objective and transparent evaluations of the implementation status of tasks outlined in the action plan and the scientific results achieved.
The Institute's Director General noted that among the Institute's main priorities are achieving high scientific results, generating new knowledge, actively participating in the fulfilment of scientific tasks defined by the state, transferring scientific and technological innovations to society, and enhancing the efficiency of scientific activity. The scholar emphasized the importance of every employee acting responsibly in achieving these goals.
The semi-annual reports covered discussions on research into the scientific and theoretical foundations of modern information technologies, digital transformation processes, as well as the work carried out toward exploring and advancing the scientific challenges of forming an information society.
The meetings featured extensive discussions on the scientific research, scientific innovation, and scientific pedagogical activities of the structural units during the first half of 2026; the execution of tasks arising from strategic documents adopted in the field of national digital policy; as well as projects implemented toward the integration of science and education, high-level personnel training, and other lines of activity. Concurrently, information was provided on public awareness initiatives aimed at popularizing technological knowledge within society under contemporary conditions accelerated by digital transformation processes. Furthermore, the reports reflected data on papers published by the departments in prestigious scientific journals, conference proceedings, and international scientific cooperation. The scientometric indicators of both the Institute and its individual structural units were presented, and recommendations were made for a more efficient organization of activities in this field.
Highly praising the scientific results and achievements obtained during the semi-annual reporting period, Academician Rasim Alguliyev called upon the staff to further enhance the quality of scientific activities in the upcoming period and to actively participate in the execution of the tasks facing the Institute.
