The 4th scientific-practical conference titled "Young Researchers," dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of this educational institution, was held at the Special School of the State Border Service (SBS).
Dr. Babak Nabiyev, head of the AzScienceNet Network Operation Center of the Institute of Information Technology under the Ministry of Science and Education, participated in the event. In his speech, he greeted the faculty of the SBS Academy and other conference participants on behalf of the leadership and staff of the Institute of Information Technology. Dr. Nabiyev congratulated the teachers and cadets on the school's 15th anniversary.
In his address, Dr. Nabiyev spoke about the established cooperation between the Institute of Information Technology and the Special School, noting that a joint seminar had been organized and an exchange of experience had been conducted between the two institutions.
Emphasizing the increasing role of digital technologies in ensuring border security in the modern era, he stated that unmanned aerial vehicles, satellite monitoring, "smart" surveillance systems, and AI solutions can enable more effective border protection, rapid data analysis, and the timely identification of potential threats.
The speaker noted that technological development has become a crucial component of state sovereignty and security. From this perspective, strategic documents adopted in the country regarding artificial intelligence, information security, cybersecurity, and digital development outline key directions in line with modern challenges.
Pointing out that alongside the opportunities created by artificial intelligence technologies, there are digital risks such as the spread of misinformation and cyberattacks, Nabiyev stated that, in addition to implementing new technologies, their safe and responsible use is of paramount importance.
At the end of his speech, Nabiyev emphasized that enhancing the digital knowledge and skills of young people, mastering modern technologies, and training them in cybersecurity are of great importance for the future development of highly qualified personnel and digital citizens.
