As is well known, scientific research projects funded by the Science Foundation of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), the Azerbaijan Science Foundation, and the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan are being carried out at the Information Technology Institute of the Ministry of Science and Education.
In this context, the next seminar was held at the institute, dedicated to the final report for 2024–2025 of the projects funded by the Science Fund of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic, titled “Development of Methods and Algorithms for Online Platform Management in the Oil and Gas Industry Using Artificial Intelligence Technologies,” and by the Azerbaijan Science Foundation, titled “Development of Artificial Intelligence Methods for Protecting Personal Data in Social Cyber-Physical Systems,” as well as the report (May–September 2025) of the project funded by the Ministry of Science and Education, titled “Development of Intelligent Methods and Algorithms for the Formation of a Cyber-Sovereign State and Ensuring Its Information Security.”
At the seminar, Academician Rasim Alguliyev, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and Director General of the Information Technology Institute of the Ministry of Science and Education, emphasized that in recent years, the grant-funded projects carried out at the institute have played a significant role in elevating the quality of its scientific research activities to a new level.
Academician Rasim Alguliyev stated that active participation in national and international grant programs provides extensive opportunities for realizing the scientific potential of the institute’s staff, involving young researchers in the scientific process, and ensuring the effective practical application of research results. According to him, discussing and evaluating the scientific achievements increases the transparency of research and serves to accurately determine strategic priorities for future stages.
Following this, the project implementers presented reports on the activities carried out during the reporting period. The participants exchanged views on the research areas and addressed the questions raised.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Academician Rasim Aliquliyev highlighted that research in key areas such as AI, information security, and cyber-sovereignty carries strategic importance for the country’s national interests. He expressed confidence that the studies conducted within these projects will make a significant contribution to the development of national science and also offered several recommendations and suggestions.
