The 2nd Summit meeting of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Alumni Association was held within the framework of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” and the 75th anniversary of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). At the beginning of the event, the cherished memory of the sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan was honored with a one-minute moment of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
Welcoming the alumni, Rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev noted that the event was dedicated to both the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” and the 75th anniversary of the university. The rector stated that the spirit of patriotism and students’ love for the Motherland have always been a priority at AzTU. Students and alumni of AzTU have always fought on the frontlines in defense of Azerbaijan’s independence and sovereignty, both during the First Karabakh War and the 44-day Patriotic War. In addition, over the past 75 years, AzTU has educated outstanding figures who have made significant contributions to Azerbaijani science, as well as to the country’s industry and economy.
Currently, AzTU graduates hold various positions in government agencies, private companies, and abroad. All this indicates that AzTU is a higher education institution with rich scientific traditions that provides its students with special attention and care.
Madar Guliyev, a graduate of AzTU and Deputy Chief Director of the Azerbaijan Institute of Metrology, delivered a detailed presentation on the employment and career development of alumni during the one-year activities of the AzTU Alumni Association.
Academician Rasim Alguliyev, a graduate of AzTU, Director General of the Institute of Information Technology, and Vice President of ANAS, discussed the global significance of the engineering profession during his speech. He noted that there is a need for engineering professionals in all fields today. He also emphasized that alumni should not be content with the knowledge gained during their university years and should regularly utilize the university’s resources to acquire information aligned with the demands of modern engineering.
Gunel Mammadli, a graduate and staff member of Azerbaijan Technical University, provided detailed information on the operating principles and registration process of the AzTU Alumni Platform, which is set to launch soon.
This was followed by a video presentation about Azerbaijan Technical University.
Mikhail Zabelin, a graduate of AzTU and a member of the National Assembly, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the university administration for organizing the 2nd Summit Meeting of the Alumni Association.
Abil Aliyev, a graduate of Azerbaijan Technical University who served as an Associate Professor at the university’s Department of Electronic Computing Machines from 1988 to 2003, shared memories from his student years.
Turkish graduates of AzTU, Ozcan Karavar, CEO of “Kar Tem Temizlik,” and Ertugrul Altyntash, co-founder of “Galata Medical” and “CTR Group CIS,” stated that they traveled from Turkey specifically to attend this event in Azerbaijan. They shared memories from their student years.
The event continued with a performance by Aynur Isgandarli and Kenan Gadimov, soloists of the Special Exemplary Military Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense and laureates of international competitions.
