Research conducted to enhance quality of complex cloud computing systems

At the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Information Technology of the Ministry of Science and Education, the annual report of the structural department conducting research on the intelligent analysis and synthesis of complex cloud systems within the study and development of the scientific-theoretical foundations of modern information technologies was presented.

Presenting the report, Associate Professor Rashid Alakbarov, the institute’s Executive Director, Head of Department, and PhD in Technical Sciences, stated that the research conducted within his doctoral dissertation titled "Development of methods and algorithms for improving quality indicators of complex cloud computing systems" has been completed. R. Alakbarov noted that, during the reporting year, the results of research on the optimal selection and intelligent management of cloud resources in network environments, the development of mechanisms to address security issues through the application of artificial intelligence technologies in cloud-based SCADA systems, and the architecture of medical network infrastructure were published in reputable journals. He also noted that the scientific and theoretical results obtained within the framework of the work had been discussed at the institute’s scientific seminars.

R. Alakbarov also highlighted that the research conducted on the topic “Development of methods and algorithms for the optimal synthesis of mobile cloud computing” has been completed. The scientist emphasized that the research carried out within the scope of the work covered the optimal management of energy consumption in data processing centers in the digital government environment, the development of mechanisms to ensure the security of personal data in mobile computing clouds, and the integration of medical health sensors into cloud-based platforms, as well as other related issues.

According to the head of the department, the structural department conducted research this year on the topic “Development of methods and algorithms for the synthesis of the intelligent network infrastructure of cyber-physical systems” within the framework of studying the problems of intelligent analysis and synthesis of cyber-physical systems on the Industry 4.0 platform. He added that, within the framework of grant projects on the problems of the Internet and supercomputer technologies, research continued on the topics “Development of methods and algorithms for online platform management in the oil and gas industry through the application of artificial intelligence technologies,” “Development of intelligent methods and algorithms for the formation of a cyber-sovereign state and ensuring its information security,” and “Challenges of optical wireless communication technologies in 5G and 6G infrastructures,” as well as other related areas, and the findings were published in scientific journals.

Speaking about the department’s international scientific cooperation, the presenter noted that collaborative relations with the GÉANT Association, which provides network services to all scientific and educational institutions across Europe, have continued.

R. Alakbarov also provided information on the department’s scientific-practical and innovation activities, scientific expertise, scientific-pedagogical and organizational work, and participation in scientific-technical conferences, as well as efforts related to the promotion and popularization of science.

A discussion was held on the department’s report, and questions were answered.

Speaking at the meeting, Academician Rasim Alguliyev, Vice-President of ANAS and Director General of the institute, stated that the research conducted in the department is devoted to pressing scientific problems.

Academician Rasim Alguliyev stated that “AzScienceNet serves as a school for training specialists in network technologies in our country,” emphasizing the importance of strengthening the scientific-theoretical activities of the department’s staff and increasing the efficiency of ongoing research. He added that the study of quantum technologies implemented in leading countries, addressing data and cloud sovereignty issues, as well as examining international experience in the field, preparing publications, and conducting training sessions are among the key tasks facing the employees of the AzScienceNet network.
