Springer Publishing House published the article by the institute's employees in the symposium proceedings

The scientific article co-authored by PhD in Technical Sciences Bikes Aghayev, Associate Professor and Head of Department at the Institute of Information Technology of the Ministry of Science and Education, and Maleyka Pashayeva, scientific researcher, was published in the proceedings of the "International Symposium on Unmanned Systems: Artificial Intelligence, Design & Efficiency—ISUDEF24," by Springer.

The article, titled "Smart Sensors as an Integral Part of Intelligent Management and Control Systems," analyzed the scientific and technical problems, as well as the current state, of sensors and sensor networks within the framework of the Internet of Things (IoT) concept.

The research investigated the interconnections between independent sensor groups and sensor networks, data transmission protocols (standards), and network routing schemes. The article also presented various application fields of sensor systems, such as autonomous transport networks, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and other modern technological solutions, as examples.

The functional classification of main and auxiliary sensors used in UAVs was carried out, and their role in control and monitoring systems was scientifically explained. The expediency of utilizing several additional "smart" sensors in the control system of civilian UAVs was substantiated with the goal of expanding their functional capabilities. The study analyzed the evolutionary trends of "smart" systems formed as a result of the convergence of "smart" sensors and their wireless networks with information and communication technology (ICT) and offered insights into development perspectives in this direction.
