Academician Rasim Alguliyev: Scientific seminars of the Institute of Information Technology must be an intellectual dialogue platform for researchers

While preparing each scientific presentation, it is essential to take into account the relevant decrees and orders signed by the head of state, the state programs adopted, and other significant official documents. Scientific seminars must be aimed at addressing current and pressing issues of great importance to society.

Academician Rasim Alguliyev, Director-General of the Institute of Information Technology (IIT) under the Ministry of Science and Education and Vice-President of ANAS, delivered a speech on improving the activities of the institute’s scientific seminars during his speech at the meeting of the Scientific Council. He stated that significant measures have been implemented and relevant decisions have been made to improve the research environment at the institute and enhance the quality of scientific seminars.

Academician Rasim Alguliyev spoke about the importance of regular participation by every researcher in scientific seminars, describing them as a vital platform for conducting intellectual discussions. According to the academician, the main purpose of scientific seminars is to exchange views on current issues, become acquainted with research conducted within the framework of dissertation work, and provide intellectual support to doctoral students and dissertation candidates in their scientific activities. The academician emphasized the importance of clearly identifying the scope of the problems to be presented at the seminars, the context in which they arise, their scientific status, the fields of science they encompass, their level of relevance, and the current state of research on these topics.

Noting that the organization and management of science holds particular importance in the modern era, the academician stated that scientific seminars also serve as a key platform for acquiring valuable knowledge and fostering an environment of transparent discussion.

Academician R. Alguliyev emphasized that bringing every scientific problem to broad discussion and conducting intellectual analyses significantly contributes to improving the quality of scientific research and creating a more effective scientific environment. He recommended that scientists and specialists be active in this process, demonstrate initiative, and unite their efforts.

Speaking at the meeting, IIT Executive Director, Doctor of Philosophy in Technology, Associate Professor Rashid Alakbarov, and IIT Scientific Secretary Narmin Adigozalova, provided information on the measures being taken to organize scientific seminars at the institute based on a new format and modern approaches. They expressed their confidence that these seminars will deliver efficient results in a short period and lead to the presentation of high-quality, fundamental scientific presentations during the sessions.

It was also mentioned that organizing high-quality scientific seminars will help train skilled professionals and boost scientific discussions, which will result in publishing research findings in top scientific journals and create more chances to join local and international grant projects.
