AzScienceNet Research and Education Network of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS provided technical support to the online meeting of the National Academies of Sciences of the Turkic states dedicated to current state of science in the Turkic states during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Employees of the AzScienceNet network, GEANT’s EaPConnect project partner, the head of the International Relations Department of the Institute, PhD in Technology Babak Nabiyev and Samad Dursunov took part in the implementation of this support.
First Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli participated in the event via video conferencing system. Representatives of academies of other Turkic states also spoke at the online conference.
At the end of the event, a resolution was signed on the COVID-19 Pandemic Meeting of the Academies of Sciences of the Turkic States. The document includes issues such as making progress to develop scientific relations in the Turkish states and republics during the crisis, deepening the integration of scientists, sharing experiences and publications of scientists in the Turkish Republics, implementing joint projects, combining efforts in the multifaceted development of information technology.
It should be noted that in connection with the special quarantine regime in the country, a working group consisting of employees of the organization has been established to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the AzScienceNet. At present, AzScienceNet provides telecommunication services that are essential for our country. Employees of ANAS continue their scientific activities at home using the services provided by this network.
