Academician Rasim Alguliyev met with a delegation from TUBITAK-BILGEM

On February 14, Vice-President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Information Technology, Academician Rasim Alguliyev met with the Vice-President of the Scientific and Technological Research Council (TUBITAK) and High Technology Research Center (TUBITAK-BilGEM) Orhan Muratoglu and Director of BILGEM Software Engineering Research Institute Cemil Sagiroglu. The meeting was also attended by Habib Abbasov, Head of the National Certification Services Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Head of Department of at the IIT of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS, doctor of technical sciences Ramiz Alguliyev and Head of Department of at the IIT, doctor of technical sciences Yadigar Imamverdiyev. 

Welcoming the guests, academician Rasim Alguliyev said that there is strong friendship and cooperation between the two countries and that these relations are based on the high trust and personal friendship between Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev. He noted the importance of long-standing cooperation between TUBITAK and a number of scientific institutions of the ANAS.

R. Alguliyev informed the guests about the activities of the Institute headed by the scientists of the enterprise. He noted that ITU conducts fundamental research in the fields of Data Mining and Big Data analytics, e-government information security management, biometric technologies, cybersecurity systems.

He recalled that during a traditional meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos last month, a decision was made to establish a regional center in Baku. 

He noted that in response to the President's calls at the Institute of Information Technology new scientific priorities have been identified for achieving valuable achievements of Azerbaijani science on Industrial 4.0 and artificial intelligence.

Expressing his gratitude to the Vice President of ANAS for his sincere reception, Vice-President of TUBITAK-Bilgem Orhan Muratoğlu gave detailed information about the activities of the institution he represented.

O. Muratoglu expressed his satisfaction at the Institute of Information Technology's new innovative research that meets the challenges of modern world science, digital economy and the concept of Industry 4.0.

The sides exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest in scientific and scientific-innovative areas, including research on e-government, Big Data, 4th Industrial Revolution, artificial intelligence, cyberspace systems security, software engineering and future perspectives for scientific cooperation were discussed.
