"Artificial Sun" will be launched in China in 2020

Chinese scientists said they were working on a fusion reactor EAST, which is also called the "artificial Sun." By 2020, it will be fully ready for launch.

Scientists claim that the "artificial Sun" will be 13 times hotter than the present. Its temperature will reach 200 ° C,  gazeta.ru reports.

According to the plans of experts, after launch, the device will generate energy similar to that in the bowels of the sun. The device is intended to be commissioned in 2020.

It is specified that, if successful, the device can bring scientists closer to achieving the ultimate goal of nuclear fusion: an almost unlimited, cheap clean energy.
