Engineers printed a unique electric sports car on a 3D printer

New 3D printing technologies can work wonders. This is at home, and cheap meat for astronauts, and human organs. A startup from Germany reports that he printed an autonomous sports electric car.

The German company BigRep created a prototype sports car, almost all of the details of which were printed on a 3D printer. The car received an electric transmission and an autonomous control system. The machine measures 285 x 146 x 85 centimeters and consists of 14 unique components printed on BigRep Pro, Studio G2 and One printer.

According to 4pda.ru, Loci is a small four-wheel car. The design was answered by the consulting company NowLab. The case is printed using Pro HT and PLR BigRep materials. Beams and joints are made using nylon 6 (PA6 / 66), and tires are made of thermoplastic polyurethane. Also mentioned is the presence of a touch screen, surround sound system, wireless charging for a smartphone and LED lighting.

The creators offer three options for an electric sports car, each of which is designed to perform unique tasks:

The Berlin model is designed for rural residents. It features airless TPU buses and an integrated NFC chip. The plans use wireless technology to track the technical condition of each part.

The model for San Francisco received a narrow body and two passenger seats, as well as one door to the right, which can be used as a shelter from the rain.

The concept for Dubai is luxury transportation for the airport. It combines solar panels with large luggage space and sturdy desert tires.

The creators of Loci talk about the prototype as a promising platform that can adapt to customer requirements and allows you to create unique vehicles in a short period of time.
