Today, Vice-President of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Information Technology, Academician Rasim Alguliyev has met GEANT Project Executive Director Leonie Schaefer, GEANT's Marketing and Communications Special Interest Group Coordinator Laura Durnford and members of the Organizing Committee of the EaPEC 2020 Conference, Marketing and Communications Coordinator of LITNET Neringa Jakvice and TNC conference organizer Steffie Bosman.
Opening the event, Rasim Alguliyev spoke about the importance of the EaPConnect (Eastern Partnership Connect) project, which is an initiative of the pan-European Science and Education Network (GEANT), which connects the Eastern Partnership countries. He said the project will create an electronic science infrastructure that will cover the Eastern Partnership countries (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine) and provide easy access to high-speed, broadband Internet access to millions of scholars, faculty and students in research and educational institutions operating in these countries.
The importance of the 5th Eastern Partnership E-Infrastructure Conference (5th Eastern Partnership E-Infrastructure Conference, EaPEC 2020) was highlighted, planned for 2020 in our country. The conference will open up great opportunities for scientists and experts in our country and AzScienceNet will closely participate in the organization of this conference.
GN4-3 and GN4-3N services were also discussed at the meeting.
