Future explorers of the moon can use the smart robots that OffWorld developed. Engineers plan to build dozens of industrial devices, they will work in various, even the most extreme conditions, and perform both scientific tasks and provide domestic assistance.

The California company already has several orders to deploy robots on Earth. They are engaged in work that can be dangerous to humans - for example, in the mining industry. Although the technology is at an early stage, OffWorld said it plans to work with NASA to use it in space in the future.

OffWorld CEO Jim Keralala told Space.com that the next generation of their robots may be used by NASA astronauts to land on the moon, a mission planned for 2024.

“We are improving our skills by deploying robots in mines, on construction sites, in tunnels and in other infrastructure facilities,” he said. “As we build machine learning, it will give us an unprecedented level of understanding of how hardware works in different environments.”

OffWorld is confident that their robots can be useful on the moon - for example, they can produce drinking water for astronauts and settlers, or engage in the production of rocket fuel.
