Employees of the Technopark of Moscow State University of Food Production were the first in the world to use a 3D printer to print rolls. The bakery product, as scientists specify, was baked directly in a 3D printer.
According to representatives of the State University, the ISL food printer was designed according to the same principles as those for plastic printers. The authors of the project, at the same time, experimented with different types of dough - in particular, with powder dough, which is quite simple to dilute in water, and homemade dough made from traditional ingredients.
The dough was laid out in layers in a special tray located inside the printer, and then the filling was superimposed on it - for example, meat or jam. The know-how of Russian scientists lies in the fact that the bun is baked directly in the printer - in the West there are no such technologies (they can only print blanks of buns and pies, which must then be baked in the oven).
In the future, scientists plan to create 3D printing technology for fully-prepared set meals. It is assumed that such a solution will create affordable and high-quality food for the military. But for now, scientists are experimenting with buns, pizzas, hot dogs, and similar things.
