The Google Maps mobile app has features for the blind and visually impaired, according to a company blog.
Voice messages of the application are similar to announcements in public transport.
During the trip, Google Maps will inform the person whether he has lost his way, how much is left until the next turn, and whether there is a pedestrian crossing ahead. So people with visual impairments can relax and not constantly think about the route.
The feature is available for Android and iOS. Now the voice acting is available only in English and Japanese, the remaining developers plan to add later.
