Over 2,300 solar panels will generate 736 MWh of clean energy per year, which will go to the needs of the Ossola mining company.

The French company Ciel & Terre has designed a new floating solar power station in the town of Renchen, located in Baden-Württemberg. The construction of the project will be undertaken by the German Erdgas Südwest, CleanTechnica reports. This will be Germany's first floating power plant to produce solar energy on an industrial scale.

Construction will begin in February and will last until June. Assembling rafts in a pond will take three to four weeks. The cost of the project was not disclosed.

In the future, the company plans to start developing floating solar stations for the Netherlands, which are already leading in Europe in the number of such projects. Ciel & Terre also notes the great potential of Portugal, Belgium and Germany.

In the spring it became known that the largest floating solar farm, consisting of 15 islands and over 73 thousand panels, was going to be built at the Andij reservoir in the Netherlands.

In the meantime, the largest floating solar station is located on one of the Maldives and meets the needs of a five-star hotel and villas located there. Thanks to the new power plant, solar energy generation on the island increased by 40% and reached 678

kW.
