Researchers at the Swiss Higher School of Zurich have managed to create a prototype of a flexible battery that is not afraid of stretching.

The new battery can be bent, twisted, stretched, while it will still work. The power supply with such changes in the shape of the prototype does not stop. When creating the battery, a special electrolyte was used, as well as an anode and cathode made of a polymer composite. The inside of the battery is a thin layer of silver flakes.

When the battery is bent, such flakes do not lose contact with each other, since they are superimposed one on top of the other. In this regard, energy can flow freely through the contacts. The battery electrolyte is water-based with a high concentration of lithium salts. The developers are sure that the created type of battery will find many areas of application.
