Unmanned boat learned to perform tasks with a robot ship

BAE Systems introduced an unmanned boat capable of performing tasks in conjunction with the British Royal Navy's robotic warship. About it writes New Atlas with reference to the message of the company.

The company integrated the autopilot system into a Pacific 24 patrol boat with a length of 7.8 m, which is capable of speeds up to 70 km / h. The ship is already in use by the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Royal Royal Navy and Ministry of Defense police.

The boat has a wide range of pre-programmed actions and can make its own navigation decisions without human intervention. The algorithm can also respond to threats, although its weapon system still requires a human operator to pull the trigger, the company said.

A demonstration of the interaction of the Pacific 24 unmanned boat and the 26 HMS Argyl robot frigate will take place during the DSEI 2019 exhibition on the Thames. The exact date of public testing of the system is not disclosed.

It was previously reported that the United States in 2020 will build the world's largest robot ship - LUSV (Large Unmanned Surface Vehicles). The ship will be part of the US unmanned fleet.
