Enthusiasts have put together a full-blown automatic turret from Portal with artificial intelligence.

A group of American enthusiasts using 3D printing assembled a full-blown turret from the cult computer game Portal. The technology description is published on the Medium portal.

The turret model was first shown back in 2017 at the Still Hacking Anyway conference. After the first presentation, the participants of the largest CCCamp hacker forum in Berlin decided to rebuild the tower, adding computer vision technology to it.

The turret, printed on a 3D printer with hundreds of parts, uses the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B + and Arduino Mega for control. The built-in camera with digital vision technology allows you to recognize hypothetical enemies and shoot at them.

The construction and configuration of the new turret model took engineers more than six months.

Four Nerf cannons are built into the tower, which can fire two rubber bullets per second. Bullet departure speed is over 100 km / h.
