In Russia, in 2022 a serial model of a neuromobile for people with disabilities may appear. This was reported by the TASS news agency with reference to the information bureau of the National Technology Initiative.
The electric car for people with disabilities was created by experts of the Nizhny Novgorod State University named after N. I. Lobachevsky together with the Zetta company. A special neurocontroller allows the driver to control onboard devices, literally, "the power of thought." The first batch of neuromobiles developers plan to produce by 2022.
Now developers are testing a prototype, by 2022 it is planned to release the first batch of electric vehicles for people with disabilities, equipped with a neuro assistance system. The Russian electric car will be produced in Togliatti, where a plant is currently being built for the production of components.
The multimodal neuro controller will be a hardware-software complex with which the driver of a car, deprived of the ability to drive a car with the help of hands or feet, will be able to interact with the machine with the help of active limbs, as well as eyes and tongue.
Vice-Rector for Research at Nizhny Novgorod State University named after NI Lobachevsky August Lee explained: “We are developing a special suit for a driver with disabilities, which with the help of various sensors will take into account not only brain activity and eye movements, but also the actions of legs, hands and even language - you can develop a special joystick for it. Sensors on the head will take into account changes in the characteristics of the electrical activity of the brain. "
The electric car will also be equipped with an augmented reality system that will display data about the trip to the windshield or a separate screen.
