Multidisciplinary research should be carried out in archeological informatics, Rasim Alguliyev, vice-president of ANAS

Vice-President of the ANAS, Director of the Institute of Information Technology, academician Rasim Alguliyev sounded these thoughts at the meeting of the Presidium of ANAS during the discussion on "Archeological researches in Azerbaijan: achievements and perspectives". He noted that the scientists and experts working in the field of archeology were in difficult and tense working conditions and highly appreciated the achievements of archeological researches in different regions of Azerbaijan.

According to academician Rasim Alguliyev, new educational standards should be developed to translate the Azerbaijani archeology into an integral part of world archeology and to reflect the scientific research carried out by our scientists in the world's authoritative, high-indexed journals.

He noted that research on digital archeology and virtual archeology in the field of world archeology is of great importance for research in this direction at the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS. He noted that the use of information and communication technologies in archeological investigations is extremely important.

R. Alguliyev emphasized the importance of establishing Archeological Information Department at the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, where multidisciplinary research is expedient. He said he was ready to provide necessary assistance in the implementation of such measures.
