The next scientific seminar of Department No. 4 was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS. The event was opened by the deputy director of the Institute for technologies, Ph.D., associate professor Rashid Alakbarov. He noted that the seminar is dedicated to the topic “Application of Green Computing Technologies in Data Processing Centers”.

The report was presented by an employee of the Institute Orkhan Mehdiyev. He gave detailed information about the existing data processing centers (DPCs) in the world, the consequences of an environmental disaster, the sources of electricity, the distribution of energy consumption in the data processing center. He informed that the early death rate from environmental pollution is three times higher than from AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

He gave information about alternative energy sources: the Sun, gravity, wind, water, biofuel, etc. He also spoke about the international program PEPecopassport®.

Speaking about the Bloom Energy project, the speaker said that the main goal of this project is to create energy in data centers. In the 21st century, the main task of data centers is to minimize energy consumption and minimize financial costs.

The speaker gave information about the green certificates that are currently distributed. He stated that this certificate is mainly used in Europe and that it is available to enterprises using alternative energy sources in the production of electricity.
