As it is known, on June 22, 2018, at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS was held a meeting on "Role of the GEANT network in the integration of science and education of Azerbaijan into Europe". One of the final decisions of the meeting was the LOLA (LOw LAtency) project, which was launched within the EaPConnect (Eastern Partnership Connect) project that unites the Eastern Partnership Countries of GEANT (Association for European Science and Education Network), low-latency audio visual streaming system was installed at the Baku Academy of Music named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli (BMA).

In order to fulfill the tasks arising from this decision, on April 18, the LOLA audio visual streaming system installed at the BMA with the support of the AzScienceNet was tested.

The event was attended by the rector of the BMA, Professor Farhad Badalbeyli, Vice-rector on International Relations and Education, Professor Yegana Akhundova, engineer Azer Asgarov, Deputy Director for Technology at  Institute of InformationTechnology, Associate Professor Rashid Alakbarov, Head of Department, PhD  Babak Nabiyev, Chief Specialists of the Institute's 4th Department Tural Mustafayev and Oktay Alakbarov, as well as Estonian representatives responsible for the installation of the system at BMA.

During the testing of the LOLA system, based on distance-controlled technology, an online connection with the system installed in Estonia was created and the music was performed.

It was noted that the LOLA project aims to provide real-time musical performances and bring together performers and musicians who are physically far from each other with advanced networking services through online networking. It was noted that this technology serves to replace the trips of musicians and performers who are in need of participation in events at different geographical areas (concerts, master classes, teaching, etc.) by replacing them with online access to those events.

R. Alakbarov expressed his confidence that the application of this audiovisual system in BMA, which has great opportunities for the promotion of Azerbaijani musical heritage, composers' works, popular music samples in the world will bring positive results. Presently, more than 100 organizations around the world use LOLA technology.

It should be noted that the introduction of the system, which is being tested recently in the BMA, is expected to be held recently.

After the event, the Estonian delegation visited the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS. Guests were informed about the AzScienceNet science computer network and its Data Center capabilities.
