US prosecutors have initiated a criminal investigation into the activities of the social network Facebook. Prosecutors are interested in the practice of the company, according to which the social network shares with other companies the data of users who do not even know about it. According to the publication The New York Times, a grand jury in New York summoned at least two manufacturers of smartphones that are suspected of signing similar agreements with Facebook.

As previously reported, federal investigations are underway. The US Department of Justice joined them, ”a Facebook spokesman said. “We have previously said that we are trying in every way to assist the structures involved in this investigation. We publicly testified, answered all the questions, in the future, we plan to do the same.”
