McCormick & Company - an American manufacturer of culinary spices - uses artificial intelligence technology to expand its product range. The first seasonings, developed with the help of an AI system, will appear on store shelves in 2019.
To create new spices, the spice maker uses artificial intelligence from IBM. The AI system analyzes the McCormick database, which has been collected for four decades, examines information about the tastes, the compositions of the products already sold, and the preferences of consumers. Based on all this information, the program offers new combinations of ingredients for seasoning.
It is planned that in the United States the first products developed using artificial intelligence will go on sale by mid-2019.
The first on the market will be a line of seasonings called ONE. It will contain spices with flavors such as Tuscan chicken, Bourbon pork tenderloin and sausage from New Orleans. These seasonings will help to give an appetizing taste and aroma of protein foods, vegetables and other products.
