Artificial intelligence tourism bus launched

The world's first artificial intelligence (AI) sightseeing bus started trial operations in Shanghai recently. 

New buses developed by the Chinese Internet search engine "Baidu" and one of the Shanghai travel companies are designed to make a tour of the city more comfortable.

Tourists can get on the bus after passing through the facial recognition procedure, and tickets are not required. The bus provides wireless electronic translators with which you can get the information you need. They work in Russian, English, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Spanish, German and Arabic.

Two routes of these buses are opened, passing through most of the sights and traditional sightseeing places of Shanghai.

In January 2019, 10 new sightseeing buses will be put into official operation, and later in the same year their fleet will be replenished by another 10. “Baida” and the Shanghai Municipality signed a framework agreement on strategic cooperation in November this year, aimed at turning Shanghai into “smart” city".
