Today, a two-day seminar on "Tariffs for Telecommunication Tariffs" has been launched with the participation of experts from EU countries.
At the seminar organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, representatives of the Ministry, as well as representatives of Aztelekom, Baku Telephone Communication, State Radio Frequency Office, Radio-Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communication Production Union participated in the seminar.
Head of the Department of Financial and Economic Analysis of the Ministry Gulru Huseynova delivered a presentation at the event.
As in many areas, our country also closely cooperates with the European Union in telecommunications. The Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies carries out a series of joint events within the TAIEX technical assistance tool, she noted.
The European Union adopted a project to improve legislation and procedures on tariffs applied in telecommunications, as well as to liberalize existing tariffs in our country presented by the ministry. This seminar was organized within the framework of this project ".
Guseynova gave detailed information about the work carried out in the information and communication sector and the results.
In the National Strategy for the Development of Information Society in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2016-2020 and the "Strategic Road Map on Development of Telecommunication and Information Technologies in the Republic of Azerbaijan", approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ambitious targets were set up on the development of the field .
Telecommunication experts from the European Union (Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Italy) made presentations on various topics.
The event will focus on exchange of views and experiences on tariff regulation in EU countries, obligations in legislation, definition of cost-based tariffs in telecommunications, tariffs for fixed, mobile and retail services, regulation of tariffs for SMP operators and their commitment, new generation technologies (4G , LTE, WIMAX, GPON, etc.).
