Next scientific seminar of Department № 9 ies of ANAS was held at the Institute of Information Technology. Employee of the Institute, Gulnar Ahmadova, presented the report on "Software engineering standards and their application areas". She provided detailed information on standards of software engineering, organizations that developing standards for software engineering, profiles of standards, and "SQuaRE», series of standards. She stated that software engineering standards play a crucial role in maintaining software quality (PT), determining the necessary attributes of the product or process.
The modern standards of Software engineering were set up to meet the needs of business, industry, medical, military and government sectors, owners and users of corporate information systems, methods and tools for creating software systems, as well as educational institutions.
She noted that Software engineering standards were divided into 4 groups and these standards included standards of the basics of software engineering, standards for creating software systems, standards and software systems for managing and evaluating processes, as well as standards for describing processes.
Basic standards for software engineering are developed by the 7th subcommittee of the United Nations Standardization Organization (IES) and the United Nations Technical Commission (IEC) 7th Subcommittee and ISO 176 Technical Committee for Quality Management and Supply, she noted. Ahmedova emphasized that this committee has developed standards for standardization, PM's processes, enterprise architecture, software engineering and certification guidelines.
She also spoke about software engineering’s standards, profiles of standards, and classification of software engineering standards.
The quality of the Software can be characterized by internal and external attributes, she noted. The external characteristics of the quality are attributes that can be evaluated during the execution of the software , and the internal characteristics are evaluated as a result of checking the internal features of the software. "
G.Ahmedova said that ISO and IEC organizations have been working on the development of a series of standards (Software Quality Requirements and Evaluation - SQuaRE).
Today, the development and development of standards based on optimism, transparency, efficiency and expediency in telecommunications and information technology has become a necessity ", she noted. She said that it is important to use international standards as a basis when developing national standards.
The speaker said that work on the preparation of national standards in line with international requirements and recommendations to stimulate the development of ICT in Azerbaijan was carried out by the Technical Committee for Standardization "Information and Communication Technologies" and presented a list of Azerbaijan's national standards for programming based on international standards for programming.
Discussions were held around the report, questions were answered.
