UK to create a military research center for artificial intelligence

In the UK, a center for the development of artificial intelligence technologies will be opened, whose activities will be aimed at improving the level of security and defense capacity of the country.

According to the website of the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom, the new structure will be created on the basis of a military science and technology laboratory in the British city of Porton Down in the south of the country. The task of the new structure is to improve and speed up the processes of introducing and developing artificial intelligence technologies in the military sphere. The main activities will be developments in the field of unmanned military equipment, counteraction to information warfare, cyber defense, as well as systems to assist the command staff in decision-making.

According to the British Ministry of Defense, the United Kingdom has already spent £ 800 million (over $ 1 billion) on the development of technological innovation to deal with potential threats to the country's security.
