Computer scanner have learned to recognize visual images, which a person thinks

Scientists from the University of Toronto have found a way to solve this problem, and along with many others. They have developed a system which accurately detects brain activity associated with mental processing of specific objects.

It is based on the classic scanner of brain activity based on EEG, because the speed of its response to changes in the brain measured in milliseconds. This is the level at which the formation of the mental imprint, recording in memory an image of a real object or calling it from there. That is, it allows to distinguish among the stream of thoughts of a specific trail and to assign conditional code.

In the experiment volunteers were asked to memorize several different human faces, and then mentally visualize them, when the assistant calls the names of these people. The system reads mental imprints at the stage of remembering individuals, and then analyzed the brain of a volunteer, looking for coincidences and signaled about that. Technically not a problem to expand the range of mental images into any number of different objects is a routine task.

If disabled, unable to speak or to push buttons, learn the images of words, phrases, terms and get a personal scanner-Recognizer, the machine will literally be able to voice his thoughts. Instead of making a sketch from the eyewitness are divided the face of the thug in the memory of the respondents for thousands of known fragments, recognize them and move to a graphics editor, immediately drawing a portrait. And that’s just the first thing that comes to mind – a real technology of mind reading are getting closer.
