Today German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and Institute of Information technology (IIT) of ANAS are jointly organizing a Research-in-Germany Conference for young scientists. The conference is followed by “A first step to research” workshop which will be held for three days. More than 170 PhD students and young scientists have registered for the event. The conference is financed by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The event aims to give an overview of the German research landscape and to give information on funding programs for researchers. The conference will be followed by the 3-day workshop “A first step to research”.
The Conference started with welcome addresses by Prof. Rasim Alguliyev, Director of IIT and Mr. Volfqanq Mössinger, the Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy to Baku. They stessed the importance of the event in building bilateral scientific cooperation and the development of young researchers. ThenNicola Ullish, Director of DAAD in Baku and Dr. Stroink from Helmholtz-Centre Potsdam shared rich and valuable information on research landscape in Germany, Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers, and Scholarships and Funding Programs for young scientists from Azerbaijan.
The workshop “A first step to research” will cover the issues like plannig a research project, finding scientific literature online, publishing research results, writing a research proposal, finding a supervisor in Germany, applying for a DAAD scholarship or research grants. The participants will also get the opportunity to present their own research project, discuss their projects with other young scientists, meet German scientists working in Azerbaijan. The successful participants will be certified.
It should be noted that, DAAD is the greatest organization supporting the exchange of scientists and students worldwide. DAAD establishes important international academic relations between Germany and the rest of the world.
