A meeting with the representatives of Malaysian Technical University are held

A meeting with the  Honorary Professor of Malaysian Technical University located in Malaysia's Malacca State, Datuk Shahrin Sahib, University and Professor of Information of MTU, Rector of Knowledge Management and Innovation Center, Rabia Ahmed was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS.

 PhD in technical sciences, Associate Professor Rashid Alakbarov, Head of Department, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Doctor of technical sciences, Professor Masuma Mammadova, corresponding member of ANAS, Doctor of technical sciences Ramiz Aliguliyev, Associate Professor Yadigar Imamverdiyev, PhD in technical sciences Vugar Musayev and PhD in technical sciences, associate professor Farhad Yusifov were attended the meeting.

The aim was to establish cooperation between the two organizations in the field of information technology and to discuss the possibilities of scientific research.

Opening the event, R. Alakbarov briefed on the main directions of the Institute, spoke about scientific research on various aspects of information technology and information society. He said that researches on information security, Big Data, biometric technologies, the economy of information and knowledge, software engineering, e-government, e-education, e-medicine, etc. investigations are underway.

The scholar who informed about the Institute's Training Innovation Center said that Informatics Teaching and doctoral examinations to all PhD Students of the country, as well as, Teaching of master subjects to master students of ANAS and entrance exams are being held at this Center.

The scientist also informed the guests about AzScienceNet's science-computer network. He noted that AzScienceNet provided high-quality Internet services to scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS and played an important role in the integration of Azerbaijani science into world science as national operator of science and education networks.  According to him, colleagues of scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS are being provided Wi-Fi, Cloud Computing, Cloud Storage, Cluster Accounts, Hosting, Eduroam, e-library, distance learning, etc. services by AzScienceNet.

Speaking about the AzScienceCERT activity of AzScienceNet Information Security Response Team, R. Alakbarov stated that AzScienceCERT provides information security risk management in AzScienceNet network.

The scientist also pointed out the work carried out at the Institute for the development of highly-qualified IT staff and scientific cooperation.

Later, Dr.Sh.Sahib informed about the MTU's activities and noted that education in technology and engineering was being implemented in three campuses. He noted that more than 11,000 students (8,000 bachelors, 720 masters, 417 PhDs, etc.) study in 81 programs at the university. According to him, in general, 2792 graduates have been graduated in 2016.

He said that they came to Baku to participate in the 9th Annual International Conference on “Uncovering Future Threats”, organized by the Center for Combating Computer Censors. During the guest visited universities and research institutes in the field of ICT, engineering, they held meetings to establish cooperation in technology and its management.

D.Sh. Sahib highly appreciated the conditions created at the Institute of Information Technology, inviting employees of the institute to publish their articles in the international magazines of the university.

Later, a video clip was presented on MTU's activity.

Finally, opinions were exchanged, questions were answered.  An agreement was reached to establish cooperation between the two organizations.
