The "Transliteration" information system is being developed

Next scientific seminar of Department No.16 was held at the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS. Colleagues of Department Sabina Mammadzadeh presented a report on "Development of the Transliteration Information System". She spoke about the foreign experience in transliteration, ISO standards, goals and objectives of the "Transliteration" information system, its architecture, as well as the current situation in Azerbaijan in this field.

S.Mammadzadeh noted that during the search of goals and tasks of the "Transliteration" information system includes the right writing of words on the Internet,  the correct passage of the text from one alphabet to another, adoption of national converting standards, the creation of general information environment by eliminating graphic problem among world Azerbaijanis.

The speaker presented a scheme for the development of the "Transliteration" information system architecture. She said that in the first stage the convertible tables are applied to the transliteration system. Then transliteration process, its evaluation and public opinion are being implemented.

S.Mammadzade informed about the current situation in the field of transliteration in Azerbaijan. According to her, the Terminology Coordination Unit of the European Parliament carries out services such as coordination, workshop, project, training in the field of research and management in terminology.

She also analyzed examples of foreign experience in the field of transliteration.

 Finally, discussions were held around the report, and questions were answered.
