Academician Rasim Alguliev, academician-secretary of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Information Technology of ANAS, said during the speech at the farewell ceremony of the world-renowned scientist, Professor Lutfi Zadeh.
Academician R. Alguliev gave information about world-renowned scientist's scientific studies, revolutionary innovations brought about by the theory of fuzzy logic. Academician said that Lutfi Zadeh began to engage in scientific activities when cybernetics had not been formed yet, no computer technologies were created, and the theory of communication did not appear and integrated to the US academic environment and worked with world-renowned scientists.
R. Alguliev noted that during the first years of his research Lutfi Zadeh was engaged in solid logic and classical mathematical research and said that these studies were related to the automatic theory of management, analysis and synthesis of identification systems, filtration problems and z-conversions.
The speaker said that Lutfi Zadeh was among the most well-known scientists in the field of cybernetics for nearly 20 years, until 1965. He noted that the theory of the fuzzy masses proposed by the world-renowned scientist in 1965, embodied a common theory, covering existing Aristotle logic, Binary logic, all definitions of classical mathematical clusters, and fuzzy mathematics close to the natural intellect the apparatus offered.
Noting that the first scientific work on the theory of artificial intelligence was published by Columbia University in 1950 by Lutfi Zadeh, R. Alguliev said that he was the initiator of artificial intelligence at that time.
R. Alguliev said that L.Zadeh was first accepted by the Japanese and that currently there are about 23,000 patents in Japanese patent fund and 18,000 of them have been applied in many well-known companies around the world.
Lutfi Zadeh's theory is based on the "intelligent" devices that appear today, "said the academician, stressing that the theory can be applied in many areas, such as a general methodological training. R. Alguliev said that the generation of computers of the fifth generation was created by this theory.
The speaker noted that Lutfi Zadeh received his worthy assessment both in our country and in the world, and was awarded the prestigious awards for his rich scientific activity.
R. Alguliev said that Lutfi Zadeh's scientific philosophy and theory have put new tasks ahead of Azerbaijani science.
At the end of his speech, academician R. Alguliev expressed his confidence that the memory of the deceased scientist will always be respected by our people.
